Bespoke Design Process
a Bespoke Ring
How to Design
From the initial consultation to the delivery of the finished piece, Sophie will be on hand to guide you through the deeply personal process of designing a bespoke engagement ring.
01
The Initial Consultation
The bespoke design process starts with a 20-minute informal call between yourself and Sophie. The call is an opportunity for Sophie to discuss the bespoke design process in detail and learn more about your partner, their likes and dislikes, your budget, and design ideas
02
The Design
After the initial conversation, Sophie will create a mood board that brings to life the key design points from your discussion, helping you decide on everything from the gemstone, cut, setting, and style of the ring.
The Perfect Gemstone
03
Once this has been agreed, you will meet Sophie in person to select the central gemstone at her studio in Notting Hill. Any additional stones will then be selected by Sophie.
Now for the most exciting part. Before anything is signed off, Sophie will share a CAD (Computer Aided Design) of the ring. The CAD will bring to life every little design detail so you can imagine the final bespoke engagement ring. This is the time for any final tweaks!
Final Approval
04
Once the CAD is approved, Sophie’s team of experts in Hatton Garden will cast the gold, set the gemstone(s) and polish the final bespoke design by hand to ensure maximum sparkle (or, fire as we call it in the industry).
The Workshop
05
From start to finish, the whole process can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks depending on the design. Once your bespoke engagement ring design is ready, Sophie will be in touch to arrange collection or delivery. You can find out more about the delivery options available to you here.
